  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 1/4 cup of raisins (optional)
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the syrup

In a pot, place the water, cinnamon, cloves, and chopped panela. Boil until completely dissolved.

Step 2: Cook the rice

Add the rice and cook over medium heat until it is soft and has absorbed the liquid.
